Happy late summer to everyone,

A quick note to let you know you can now find Shaping San Francisco's new Fall Talks series on-line, and if you're on our paper calendar mailing list you'll be getting that pretty soon too... we've merged our calendar into the regular CounterPULSE calendar, rather than printing a whole separate one for the Talks. This means that you'll have to peruse our schedule in the right column of the CounterPULSE calendar, AND it also means that we'll be preparing the Talks in 3-month segments. So this first series runs through November, and a new calendar will appear in early November that covers December-February, another one following in early Feb. covering March-May... so if you have proposals for Talks you can still get them in to the 2nd and 3rd periods...

The Talks begin on Sept. 10 with Art as Intervention, and then starting Sept. 17 with our Talk on the 40th anniversary of the San Francisco State Strike through the Sept. 24 Talk on Global Africa (co-sponsored by the Global Commons Foundation) we'll be participating in a week-long series of events looking back at 1968...

The Fall Bicycle History Tours are also online now. The first one is Sun. Sept. 21 at noon, covering the Ecological History of SF, the northerly half...

We are having our annual Slow Food Feast of Fools and Friends on Sun. October 19 at CounterPULSE and tickets will be on sale shortly via brownpapertickets.com.

-+-+-+

On a personal note, I'll be talking about Nowtopia at several local venues in the next week or so:

This weekend I'll be at the San Francisco Writing for Change Conference,
speaking at 11 a.m. on Saturday, on Nowtopia and the writing process
that helped bring it about. Next Thursday I'll be presenting at The Abundance League,
a charming group of folks who are trying to shift paradigms in ways
that I'm enthused about. And then on Saturday the 23rd I'll be giving
a labor history tour to some visiting Egyptian labor reps during the
day, and giving a Nowtopia reading at 7 pm at Red Hill Books on Bernal Heights.
I'll also be making Nowtopia appearances in Toronto Sept. 4-9, NYC Sept. 10-14 (at Conflux), and Troy, NY on Sept. 15...
