Hello everyone!
The Fall-Winter Talks begin TOMORROW NIGHT, Wednesday, September 12
("Towering Ideas" we call the series this time), and I hope you'll join us. NEW
STARTING TIME FOR TALKS: 7:30 p.m.
We'll be discussing the frustrating and often dysfunctional funding system
for the arts tonight, with representatives of arts-funding foundations and
local artists and nonprofit activists. This is co-sponsored by Independent
Arts & Media, part of their two-week long Expo for the Artist and Musician.
Next week is the inauguration of our new 3rd Wednesday series on "Art &
Politics" when local muralist extaordinaire Mona Caron presents a one-woman
show of her murals, her illustrations, and talks about the fascinating
connections of art and politics that run through it all.
In two weeks, on the last Wed. of September, our Nature in the City series
recommences with a wide-ranging discussion of the water infrastructure of
San Francisco, with a particular look at the water under our feet that we
tend to have forgotten...
Hope you'll join us for one or all of these. The calendar is on
line<http://www.counterpulse.org/fall-winter-talks.shtml>so you can
follow the schedule there too.
Thanks!
