Hi friends,
It's 2007 and Shaping San Francisco is on the move!
Tonight debuts our radio show, a half hour every week at 10:30 pm on
KUSF-FM 90.3, comprising of edited portions of last Spring's Talks. Tonight
is an excerpt featuring Raquel Rivera-Pinderhughes from the "Can San
Francisco Feed Itself?" Talk... We'll be on every week for the next few
months, and hopefully longer... we need sponsors, so if you feel rich and
would like to help underwrite it, it's only $25/show... donate via the
shapingsf.org website, or counterpulse.org....

Next week, Wednesday, January 17, 8 p.m., we recommence our Winter Talks.
January 17: The Health Epidemic
Therapy Society and Eroding Public Health

In the relatively wealthy Bay Area, state-of-the-art hi-tech medicine sits
side by side with an ever-growing phalanx of alternative treatments and
philosophies. Meanwhile a growing proportion of the population is denied
access to any kind of health care. What should be the response of medical
professionals, alternative practitioners and community organizers? What
role, if any, do we want the state and business to have in health care
provision? Let's pause and rethink some basic assumptions together. (Bill
Mosca — California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA), Adrienne Pine
— California Nurses Association, Jason Blantz — Mental Health SF General).
Hope to see you all there!
