1) TONIGHT: INNOVATIONS IN JOURNALISM on KQED-FM

    For those who missed the keynote panel at the Innovations
    in Journalism Expo on May 3 in Silicon Valley, KQED will air
    a recording of the session TONIGHT, June 5, 2008,
    at 8 PM PDT on 88.5 FM.

    Panelists: Rose Aguilar (Your Call Radio), Cynthia Gorney (moderator)
    Persophone Miel (RE:public), Geneva Overholser (USC Annenberg 
School),
    David Talbot (Salon.com founder)

    The Expo was produced by Indy Arts/Newsdesk.org and the
    SPJ-NorCal chapter, and really went off splendidly, so
    do check it out. If you aren't in the SF Bay Area, you can

2) COMING SEPT. 27 TO DOLORES PARK: THE NINTH EXPO FOR INDEPENDENT 
ARTS!!

    We changed the name of the Expo for the Artist & Musician to the
    Expo for Independent Arts. This represents the event's remarkable
    diversity much more accurately.

    Also, we are excited to announce the Expo's first outdoor venue ...
    Dolores Park! Sunshine and art adventures go so well together.

3) STENCIL NATION BOOK RELEASE PARTY, FRIDAY JUNE 6

    "Stencil Nation: Graffiti, Community, and Art"
    Book Release Party and Stencil Art Exhibit

    Friday, June 6, 7 PM to Midnight

    SF, CA 94110

    Come celebrate the Manic D Press release of "Stencil Nation:
    Graffiti, Community, and Art" by Russell Howze (curator,
    http://www.StencilArchive.org). Autographed copies of the book
    will be for sale by the author at the night of the exhibit opening.

    Russel will also feature slide shows of the Stencil Archives,
    with over 10,000 photographs of international stencil art.

    Stencil-making materials will also be available upon request.

    Proceeds of the art sales will benefit the artists as well as
    help fund the upcoming Stencil Nation book tour.
