Call for submissions: The Messenger, Vol. 1, No. 2 -- "Power & Democracy"

Greetings. Here's an update on The Messenger, Independent Arts & 
Media's new quarterly newspaper.

-- The first issue hit the streets in early September. It was a feast 
of words, images and ideas, all tied together by breezily 
opportunistic art direction and editing. We ended up adding an extra 
sheet to present the combined work of more than 20 contributors. You 
may still be able to find it around the Bay Area. If not, we have a 
few archival bundles at Indy Arts HQ in SF. East Bay folks, check 
with 21 Grand -- www.21grand.org/.

-- Issue two, the Winter 2006 edition, is targeted for mid-December, 
and will address the theme of "Power & Democracy." Our editorial 
focus is "DIY plus manifesto," and in this regard we welcome fresh 
ideas and perspectives, project reports, eyewitness accounts, modest 
proposals, utopian daydreams, resource listings, illustrations, 
previews, features, how-to guides, documentation of creative
