Dear Expo folks ...

Last night's film finance workshop and Urban Cinema Showcase screening
was a terrific affair. The evening opened with panelists Henry S.
Rosenthal & George Rush discussing their experiences with film
production, the danger of working with a funding "finder" who promises
you the moon, and the importance committing yourself so fully to your
project that it is as important to you as breathing.

The film screening, which featured shorts from local youth filmmakers
and several local film festivals (SF Women's Film Fest and CounterCorp
Film Fest), was 90 minutes of local history, magic realism, stark
documentary, and inspiring calls for change and hope.

Tonight, our curating partner for the Expo's film program, Stephen Parr
of SF Media Archive, has put together another amazing lineup, this time
of rare 35mm shorts by San Francisco filmmakers, screening for FREE at
Dolby Laboratories.

Seating is limited; in case of a capacity crowd, please call
415/861-5302 to RSVP.

Coming up later this week:

      *** "$56 Million & Where's the Art?" ... at CounterPulse,
