Greetings, Expo folks.

Here are two late additions to last week's newsletter. We won't habitually be sending these additional reminders, but the two events below are significant, worthy, and produced by two longtime Expo for the Artist & Musician stalwarts, Visual Aid and Mission Creek Music & Arts Festival. These are both singular organizations doing vital work for culture and community.

Thank you for your support of the arts in our communities!

 * CALL FOR ART -- Deadline this Thursday, March 29

"GET OUT OF JAIL FREE: A Visual Aid exhibition"
   Exhibit opens in April.
Deadline for art submissions March 29

Questions? Call Julie Blankenship or Nicole Best at 415-777-8242.

"Get Out of Jail Free" will explore themes related to
imprisonment as a metaphor for illness, and for other
issues of struggle, injustice and power relationships in
political, social, environmental and personal arenas.

The show will consist of numerous, perhaps hundreds of
small works. Both Visual Aid artists, and artists &
friends from the larger community are welcome to submit
work for the exhibition. Please feel free to pass this
   invitation on to friends.

   Media:
Open to all 2D and 3D media.
Visual artists who work in digital media, painting,
sculpture, printmaking, drawing, mixed-media, etc. are
   encouraged to submit work.

   Size Limitation:
   8.5" x 11"

   Number:
One artwork per person will be included in the exhibition
(provided the artist follows the guidelines.) Additional
works may be included, at the discretion of the curators.

   First things first:
If you plan to participate, please email us asap at
staff at visualaid.org with your name, address, email address
and telephone number. This will give us a better idea of
   the number of artworks/participants.
