Message-ID: <00b601c77add$82e2ef20$6c01a8c0@fileserver.theatrebayarea.com> Dear Arts Forum Supporters An urgent message from our friends at California Arts Advocates: The Assembly and Senate Budget Subcommittees meet tomorrow and Wednesday to vote on funding for the California Arts Council, item 8260 in the State Budget FY 2007-08. Take Action now at the California Arts Action Center . Urge your elected officials to support a funding increase for the arts through the California Arts Council. California deserves more than three cents for the arts. Several legislators are considering increasing the budget for the California Arts Council by $5-10 million. While this is very encouraging and would substantially increase the CAC's current budget of $5 million, the proposal still leaves us far short of the $37 million needed to bring California up to the national median of $1 per person for state support of the arts. Urge our legislators to do everything they can to support increased access to the arts.
